When you enter the Center's property you will discover a setting that is both refreshing and relaxing to your spirit — you will feel renewed. Many of our clients say "... coming to the Center is like coming home."

The Essex Conference Center and Retreat features two spacious contemporary designed buildings that are set on eighteen private acres surrounded by 250 acres of conservation land. A waterfall and lily covered pond provide a focal point for outdoor activities. The Center's beautifully landscaped grounds are punctuated by unique sculptures and artistic treasures tucked away in unexpected places.

Our guests can enjoy an early morning walk or jog to the Essex Bay, just one mile from the Center. Well-maintained walking trails interlace the property, providing an open invitation for contemplation, birding and exploring of the many interesting natural features.

A lawn provides a space for outdoor activities such as volleyball, horseshoes, bocce ball or a fast moving Frisbee game. In the warmer months many groups move their meeting outside under shade trees and in the midst of the gardens.

A fire circle, constructed of logs piled six feet high and fifty feet in diameter, is the setting for an evening of coming together for talk, laughter and sharing around a roaring campfire.
