The Amazing Essex Race

Designed specifically for The Essex Conference Center and Retreat your group will have an opportunity to experience the beauty and charm of Cape Ann. Loosely based on the TV series The Amazing Essex Race will have your group competing in teams of 3 – 10 persons to complete several challenges and win the race. Each of the challenges requires a different skill such as creative thinking, problem solving, communication and more. All of the challenges are fun and the experience assists in the building of stronger more successful teams. For groups as few as 9 and as large as 100+.

Spy School©

An international favorite this is the original Spy School© that has been facilitated in Europe, Australia and throughout North America. Even several US Intelligence Agencies have run Spy School© for their teams. Your group will have a blast in this game of espionage but they will also be learning new things about group dynamics and their strengths and weaknesses as a team. For groups of between 9 to 45 persons.

Group Drumming

The Fire Circle at the Essex Conference Center is the perfect environment for this team building event. Not only is Group Drumming fun it also affords groups to experience team work on a whole other level encouraging cooperation, creative thinking, communication, brainstorming, diversity awareness, negotiation, multi-tasking, and it is a great stress reliever! For groups of 5 – 35 persons.

SurvivorS©

The Essex Conference Center and Retreat is situated on 18 acres of private woodlands and gardens and is surrounded by 250 acres of conservation area. It is the ideal setting for a game of SurvivorS©. Groups compete in teams to Outwit, Out-Play and Out-think-out-of-the-Box in this fun and challenging series of games. Unlike the TV series our program is “inclusive” rather than “exclusive”. No one gets voted off in this program as the objective is to not to beat everyone else, but rather to build the strongest team. Some of the challenges are physical, others are intellectual and still others are just downright hysterical. Everyone gets an opportunity to show their strengths not just the physically strongest team members. For groups of 8 – 100 +.

The Fisherman’s Feast©

“Have you ever been to sea Billy?” This interactive dinner show, available only at The Essex Conference Center and Retreat, is a taste of local culture, humor and music. The Fisherman’s Feast© is an interactive comedy filled with fish stories, songs of the sea and a glimpse at the life of a fishermen. After a long day of meetings and Power Point presentations this is a welcome relief as audience members will laugh, sing and let their worries sail away. Ideal for any size group.
